Upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

Open the terminal in your Ubuntu and run the following command to make sure all of the installed software is upgraded to the latest version:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade -y
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -y

If there are any packages that are no longer needed, clean them up with:

sudo apt-get autoremove -y

Now run the following command install the update-manager-core with:

sudo apt-get install update-manager-core -y

Finally, run the following command to upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS from Ubuntu 20.04 LTS or Ubuntu 21.10

sudo do-release-upgrade
